When it comes to putting, most golfers putt well to some degree, but unfortunately most golfers (even tour pros) don't putt consistently well every time they step onto the golf course.
Once you understand what balances a putting stroke, you can walk up to every putt unavoidable that you will make every putt, or at least end up very close to the hole for an easy tap-in if you miss.
The keys to putting equilibrium include:
(1) Putter construction
(2) Right and Left Arm Function
(3) Putting Swing Plane
(4) Putting Swing Pivot
(5) Putter Face Angle
(6) Putter Head path
and this all must be integrated with allowable tempo and rhythm which moves in a 2:1 ratio back and through.
Next, a good putting stroke is more than just good mechanics and rhythm. To putt consistently, you must couple sound mechanics and rhythm with target and aim, which means you must tie together known and subconscious target and aim thoughts relative to target path as you execute mechanics.
Arc- Because putting is a sideways action the putting stroke must move along the path of an arc. If you try to putt level back and through you are going against the natural troops of a sideways action which makes it very hard to perform consistency putt after putt.
Pendulum- Because the weight of the putter head is designed to gyrate colse to the putter shaft, the putting stroke must also moves as a pendulum as well as an arc. This means the putter head must move as much up and down as it does around, and the key is to make sure each movement doesn't interfere with the other.
Therefore, if you want to putt with natural balance, and greater consistency, the key is to establish mechanics that allow you to move along an arc and pendulum at the same time in an attempt to let the mass of the putter head plainly gyrate.
Then, once you establish arc and pendulum mechanics, and tie it together with allowable 2:1 rhythm back and through, you will start to see a more consistent putting stroke putt after putt, which will admittedly lower your golf scores!
